The owner of this beautiful Barnet home wanted to renovate an existing swimming pool and transform the garden into a year-round staycation haven. We rebuilt the pool, adding a pool house complete with shower & WC. Installed a heated Italian porcelain patio, heated bespoke concrete bench seat, fire pit, walls & new drainage system.
It was important to this client that their large patio was made safe and usable for their much-loved grandchildren. The space had previously been crazy paved, with multiple levels and uneven surfaces. We modernised with a simple sandstone design and finished with bold kerb edging, making it a relaxing outdoor area for the children to play and family to enjoy relaxed dining together.
This challenging garden was heavily sloped, rendering much of it unusable by the client and her family. We excavated and rebuilt using underground retaining walls, creating a large flat surface area. The team then built a garden gym, installed fencing to 3 sides, turfed and installed a stunning patio using Brett Elegante porcelain tiles.
All malexconstructionscompany patio projects always begin with a detailed structural survey, addressing all aspects of drainage, excavation and groundwork required.
Having dug out and reinforced your garden as required, we begin by adding compacted sub-base materials to level any soft spots, install a membrane to stabilise the ground, and fit soakaway drainage.
We lay down a layer of sub-base materials to be spread and compacted before initial level checks are completed. Next comes a layer of course sand, before we lay block, natural stone or porcelain paving to your custom patio design and check for alignment.
Intricate details are checked including recess trays, drain and gully covers. Our team’s final task is to joint your new patio before brushing in kiln dried sand, compacting with a vibrating plate and carrying out handover compliance checks.

Nick and his team did a fantastic job of our patio, front garden and driveway. A previous contractor had built the patio badly, so Nick's team took it to pieces, ensured the drainage was installed properly and re-used the paving stones to create a beautiful patio that we're going to love using next summer.
